Everything is interlinked by a thread
I like to use fabric and threads as a texture to play with. Threads, knots and stitches are full of stories and beauty.
The process is meticulous and fragile. When puncturing the paper with the needle I am causing damage to then reconstruct something with stronger meaning and more depth by adding the sense of touch.
I have also experimented transferring paper cutouts onto fabrics and create a new setting for the story to live in.
Embroidery is a way for me to add texture and playfulness to my compositions

Punk Embroidery series
I was inspired by Derek Ridgers photography of the Punk movement in the UK from the 70s/early 80s. I like the contrast of using a traditional and old fashioned medium to represent the portraits of young punks. Often seen as aggressive and freakish I wanted to showcase the beauty and fragility in their weirdness.
